La Bysshe Energy Company, aussi appelée Bysshe Co., était une entreprise d'avant-guerre et le propriétaire du vaisseau de recherche USS Ozymandias. Ils travaillaient apparemment dans le secteur de l'énergie et avait acquis des droits sur la région de Point Lookout pour y chercher des ressources naturelles de gaz.

Le but du Projet d'Enquête sur le Gaz Naturel MD-16-001 était de déterminer si des dépôts de bio-gaz étaient présents à Point Lookout pour rendre fiable les excavations de grande envergure. La compagnie savait que le potentiel des réserves de bio-gaz de l'île provenait des enterrements en masse faits lors de la Guerre de Sécession, un fait qu'ils ont caché à leur propre responsable d'expertise, Caroline Saunders, puisqu'il était connu qu'elle avait des penchants "libéraux". Martin J. Roach devait la surveiller et quand il lui devint évident qu'elle s'intéressait de trop près aux dépôts de gaz, le protocole d'exécution "Code Bleu" fut donné ; toutes les preuves furent détruites.

An ambitious covert plan to allow Bysshe to seize land, the Company commissioned Calvin van Lowe, its talented engineering employee, to create an imposter sheepsquatch out of an assaultron and cause a string of sheepsquatch sightings. Originally intended by the Garrahan Mining Company as a counter to Hornwright Industrial Mining Company Strikebreaker robots, the project was canned and handed off to Allan Garrahan,^[1] who handed off the project to Big Bad Wolf.^[2] Bysshe hoped to throw property values in Lewisburg into freefall that way, so that it could buy the town up^[3]. The project team consisted of Calvin (codenamed "Blacksheep") as the main developer, Bo-Peep as the handler, and Big Bad Wolf as the fixer^[4] At some point, the imposter sheepsquatch would escape containment and Big Bad Wolf would attempt to contain the rogue assaultron through the pylon ambush site.^[5].
